Tuesday: Indoc!! Woohoo! It is 4:30 in the morning as I write this. I've been up for the last two hours reading in hopes of falling back to sleep...not happening.
Wednesday: Well, after three days, it looks like my guts have actually adjusted. Thank Goodness! On a different note, I found it pretty easy this morning to get off my butt and hit the treadmill. I ran a 5K...felt good but let's see if I can say the same thing tomorrow... Transformers, they're more than meets the eye. But not more than meets the shelf! It's been fun trying to figure out what plugs in and what doesn't around here. Upside: I am able to plug my iPhone and MacBook into the wall with just the help of an adapter. Downside: since even the adapters are recessed I can't plug in my wifi router. Gonna have to see if anyone is getting rid of their transformer.
Friday: FINALLY got my uniforms and clothes! I can't tell you how relieved I was to see my bags. As comfortable as it was to run around in civilian civilian clothes in this heat I didn't like it because I belong in uniform! People were walking into my office this week who had no idea who I was or what I did there. Today they were coming in and would see me in uniform and say to me "Oh, you're the new EMO, right?" Much easier.
Saturday: quiet day at the office, mostly spent learning my job. I feel like I'm cramming for a test! The learning curve is steep so I gotta hit it hard. I've been enjoying myself here so far. Karaoke last night was fun! I had one sailor pass by me and say, "Hey, you were singing last night, weren't you?" Tonight we'll be networking in the wardroom. Looking forward to meeting my fellow officers in a social setting to better foster those relationships at work. All in all, I'd say it's been a great first week here!
